30 Day Challenge. Today was a silhouette.

We spent all morning making homemade cinnamon raisin bread. It was a total success, and more than half the loaf is gone already, but it took FIVE hours! We started at 8am.

We had big plans to get to Seaworld this afternoon. Early afternoon.

By 1:00 the bread was just making it into the oven.

By 1:45 it was coming out. But then we had to wait 5 minutes to take it out of the pan, 5 min on the wire rack to cool down, 5 minutes after we cut it open to let the steam release so we could bring it to our lips (one of us brought it to her lips too fast. Scalding hot cinnamon ooze sure hurts like hell when it touches your lips too soon! Think I have a blister!) And then it took another 20 minutes to let the kids finish eating 3 pieces of it and get in the car!

Bottom line: no Seaworld today.

Instead we went for a walk (Tom called it a hike, but that’s only because it was a single track trail and had some foiliage around the path) in La Jolla.

We ended up in the park at the end of our “hike”. Payton was wet and cold and crying from getting splashed in a tide pool.

And Harper was refusing to get in the car. So I forced her onto a rock, in front of the setting sun, to get the needed picture of the day.

Not bad…..

My “colleagues” on the 30 Day Challenge loved her “balance beam” walking.

Little did they know that look came about because I forced her onto a skinny, slippery rock so she was positioned juuuuuuust right.

All in the name of art……
