Everyday Moments | Kim Kelley Photography | San Diego Family Photographer

I have a quote on my business card:
“Happiness is not something you experience, it’s something you remember.”
That is why I take pictures. As many as I can, as often as I can.
And usually, my subjects are my children. They are my biggest cause of frustration, but by far also my biggest source of joy. Especially in those “no big deal”, everyday moments. And when I capture those moments, and look back on those pictures, that is when I feel happiness so huge it could burst my heart.

My sister and her husband came in this weekend to run the half marathon off of Coronado, and after the race we walked along the pier and went to the farmer’s market. It’s so nice to get out over the water and smell the ocean. My sister is mesmerized by the look and the sound of the water. We could have left her there on the pier for 4 hours and she would have been content.
And the girls love being around the water too. They get so peaceful….

After the race we attacked the landscaping issues we’ve recently faced. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but let’s just say the “landscaper” we paid dearly, ripped out everything that was beautiful and put in a bunch of dumpy annuals. Why did we pay someone to do something like that? I still have panic attacks thinking about it. So we loaded up at Home Depot and went to work ourselves.

Child labor laws?

Never heard of them….

I am in a blog circle with a group of amazing photographers/moms, and we are all sharing our collections of everyday moments of our beautiful children. Click here to follow the circle and see their images…their happiness.
