Del Mar beach maternity photos
Maternity Photos with Soon To Be Big Sister
This little girl came with her parents for her mom’s Del Mar beach maternity photos. She cracked me up! You won’t be able to tell, based on the photos I’m posting, but she was not so into posing for me. She would rather twirl, play in the sand, or otherwise… just look elsewhere. And let me also say this, she was invited to participate in the family portion of the newborn photos I captured for her brother just a few weeks later, and THOSE photos make this maternity session look like a professional model stood still for me and did everything I asked of her! At her brother’s photo session she cried, did that bucking thing with her back when they tried to hold her on their laps on the couch, she head butted a 9 day old baby (by accident. I think.), and overall just refused to be in a photo. I am pretty sure this 2 year old rolled her eyes at me throughout the “sibling” portraits.
So, now that we have everything in perspective, we can look at these beach maternity photos with new eyes and realize how stellar her performance was. At least she looked at the camera a few times!
This is the dance portion of the photo shoot.
Here is the daddy portion….
And here is my absolute FAVE!!! The mommy shot where everyone is hysterical!!!! It might actually appear that the mother of this sweet child is about to eat her. But rest assured, they were absolutely cracking up laughing. I was too, mostly from looking at them carry on, so it’s a miracle these photos aren’t totally blurry!
Like mother, like daughter. 🙂
They are such an adorable family. They came early and hung out on the grassy park above the beach. There was sand and waves below her, and a playground to her left, and all this little beauty did was hang out and sit with her mom and dad on the grass. It was like a movie scene. SO well behaved. Well, until it was time to look at the camera and sit still, then all manners were eighty-sixed.
The photo above is my favorite of all maternity shots. When mama is looking at the older child, and the older child is interested in the baby belly. I love this connection, so so much!
I promise I did not water color paint in the skies below. It was an incredible night for a beach sunset photo session, and that my friends, is just lucky.
