Hotel Del

I had a fun day with this sweet Southern couple from Texas, visiting Coronado for the weekend to celebrate their babymoon. This was their first baby and they were beyond excited for their new arrival, but first, a weekend to relax before that word becomes a term they never use and don’t understand anymore. 🙂

They picked a gorgeous weekend to stay at the Hotel Del in Coronado. Walking distance to everything, expansive beach to stroll on, and none of the uncomfortable humidity and bugs that they left behind in Texas.  And they (very wisely) picked this location for her sunset maternity photo session.

The Hotel Del provides an iconic back drop that everyone who knows San Diego will recognize, so we incorporated the hotel in many of her photos. But Coronado also has a wide golden beach and a stunning stretch of boulders that make for additional spectacular backdrops.

They were both good sports and were willing to do whatever I asked of them. With the exception of going waist deep into the ocean.  They did wade a little deeper than expected, and we were able to soak most of his pant legs when he posed with her, but the plan was for dinner immediately after the sunset, so I allowed them to stay fairly dry.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your babymoon! I hope you enjoyed it, and good luck with the baby when the “moon” is over! 🙂
