This 8 day old baby girl came all the way down from Temecula to spend the morning with me. I’m so glad they made the trip! She was a perfect model… sleepy, cuddly, and beautiful. She obviously had a full belly though, because I did have to change my backdrop quite a few times, if you know what I mean! 😉
This little lady has 2 cousins who I’ve photographed often. In fact, one of her cousins is just a few weeks older than her, and I did his photos right before she arrived. Poor grandma just finished her visit with her new grandson, left to fly back east, and got a call the next day that her granddaughter had arrived! She was back on a plane in time to make it to the next photoshoot! 🙂
I confess, I did spend a lot of time smoothing, combing, and arranging her hair! Most of my newborn baby girls are bald….what a treat to get some hair to work with!
I love this black and white, simplistic, classic and dare I say…organic… new style of photos I’m taking of newborns. I still use props, but now I’m more particular about the props I’ll incorporate.
There is nothing you need in your baby’s photo, except your baby. A large, blown up image on canvas of your newborn, and just the purity of your newborn, is all I recommend. It’s your best piece of art. I promise.
